The basic idea for the LOESS is to express the Villány terroir with its most important and expressive grape varieties. The fact that the Cabernet Franc plays no role in this is simply because it is the most beautiful on its own! And the Merlot is allowed to show it's capability for relationships in the J.M. Cuvée. The LOESS 2015 shows how wonderfully the pannonian expression in the Portugieser and Kékfrankos harmonize on the Villányi loess with the atlantic expression in the Cabernet Sauvignon. The high lime content in the Villány loess gives the Cabernet Sauvignon its firm structure, which harmonizes wonderfully with the juicy fruit of the Portugieser and the animating freshness of the Kékfrankos. LOESS 2015 is spicy on the nose, followed by juicy fruit with a firm mineral structure and animating freshness. Deep, complex, juicy, harmonious.

First official organic wine in the Winery Hummel. Ultimately, only a formality that affects the label, because nothing has changed in the matter. Also the predecessors from Nagytótfalu and all other wines from our own grapes are produced biologically since 2008. The wine itself: deep-toned, complex, with strong acidity, refreshing, elegant, serious and long.

2010 is considered a difficult year due to its precipitous, cool weather. In such vintages, wines benefit in particular from barren vineyards with low yields. In the Cabernet Sauvignon Nagytótfalu 2010, the advantages of our practice of green, unfertilized vineyards are reflected in a pleasant way. Due to their low yields, they produce very expressive wines even in difficult years. In the cellar, the Cabernet Sauvignon Nagytótfalu benefited in 2010 from its long barrel maturity, which is reflected in velvety, firm, yet fine tannins, surrounded by ripe fruit and mild invigorating acidity. An exceptional 2010er with maturation potential. From now until at least 2025.

"It's still far too rare for a Portuguese to show what the variety really is capable for, but Hummel's Jammerthal shows it: almost, polished, cool, dry and mineral, incredibly appetizing in his youth, but also good for many years of maturity."
